The 34th Seoul Music Awards has officially kicked off its fan voting today, March 24, 2025. The organizing committee announced the start of mobile voting for this prestigious event, which celebrates the best in K-Pop.


This year's Seoul Music Awards ceremony is set to take place on June 21 at the Inspire Arena. The committee is anticipating active participation from the fandoms of various artists, which will significantly influence the selection of award winners.


Voting will be conducted through the official voting app "K-POP SEOUL" as well as partner apps "My One Pick" and "Fandom Chart." The voting covers major categories including the Main Award, Rookie Award, Popularity Award, and Hallyu Special Award. Notably, the Popularity Award (domestic voting) and Hallyu Special Award (international voting), along with the K-POP SEOUL CHOICE for groups and solo artists, will be determined entirely by fan votes, highlighting the global interest in K-Pop.


The voting process is divided into two phases. The first round of voting runs from March 24 at 12 PM to April 12 at 11:59 PM, while the second round will take place from April 21 at 12 PM to May 10 at 11:59 PM. The results of the voting will be announced on the day of the awards ceremony.


The criteria for candidate selection are based on the Circle Chart, considering albums and digital music released from January 2024 to March 2025. This means that artists who have shone in the K-Pop scene over the past year will be competing for the coveted awards.


In addition to the main awards, the Rising Star category has also been generating intense competition since voting began on February 24. Out of 60 teams that participated in the first round of voting for the Rising Star category, 30 teams advanced to the second preliminary round. Following the second preliminary round, which concluded at midnight on March 24, a total of 10 teams have made it to the final round, where they will compete for a chance to perform at the Seoul Music Awards.


The team that secured the top spot in the Rising Star category is BIBIUP, followed by PAU, AT2MAJOR, UNITE, TNX, ONEFACT, EVEN, LUNATE, FANTASY BOYS, and TEMPEST, all of whom have reached the final 10 teams. The final round for the Rising Star category will take place from May 19 to June 1.


The Rising Star category was established by the Seoul Music Awards organizing committee to provide opportunities for artists from smaller agencies to showcase their talents. It is specifically aimed at idol groups that debuted between January 2022 and December 2024.


The Seoul Music Awards, which began in 1990, has played a significant role in elevating the global status of K-Pop and continues to be a representative music awards ceremony in South Korea.
